This past week and some has been really fun and quite full with fun birthday activities, since we celebrated Line’s birthday two Friday’s ago, again on Sunday, Dad’s birthday on Wednesday, Line’s with a playdate on Friday, and Dad’s again with a family cake today. Man, those two really know how to get the most out of a birthday! Line had fun with her birthday softball party, and here are a few pictures of the day.
On Line’s actual birthday Malia made a special treat for her, caramal and chocolate mousse parfaits. It was so funny. . . one of the girls, now I can’t remember which one, wanted to know where the moose was for the parfaits. So cute. Then, after the mousse was made, Lose was looking in to the bowl and wanted to know if that was the moose. Dad told her that one (the caramel) was from shaking the ear wax out of one ear, and the other (the chocolate) was from shaking the ear wax out of the other ear. I later heard Malia consoling Lose, and telling her not to worry, that it wasn’t really moose “ear-waggs”. Here she is cooking away. . .
Later we gathered in the living room to watch Narnia, our Sunday movie. I never thought the girls would understand all that’s in that movie, but it’s one of their favorites!
On Tuesday Malia was so excited to have Dad come along on her Kindergarten field trip to Thanksgiving Point in Lehi to Farm Country. Here they are getting ready to go. Dad told her that it was the best birthday present she could ever give him, getting to spend time together.
I know that I already put pictures on here of Dad’s birthday on Wednesday, when we BBQed up in the canyon, but I forgot to put pictures up of the girls favorite part of his birthday. The night before, Tuesday, after dance, we drove over to his work and decorated his car with balloons, streamers, and I let each of the girls decorate a window with a picture or saying of their own choosing. Here are their windows. (By the time Dad got home, streamers and balloons were a lost cause. Should of taken a picture of the car before we left from decorating it, I guess.)
Because the girls have such a large family, we decided after a disastrous birthday party we held in our garage a couple of years ago that we would no longer invite friends to the girls party, just family. Too many kids to coral! Instead, they get to pick a day where specifically for their birthday they invite a few friends over for a playdate. Line picked pizza to have for dinner while her friends were here. I think Eva fully enjoyed pizza night.
And finally, after a crazy busy week, we finalized Line’s baptism program today with a member of the bishopric. After he left the meeting at our house, Line called to ask those that she wanted involved with her program if they would do whatever specific request she wanted them to do. After she had completed all of her phone calls, dad reminded her that there was one person she hadn’t called. (Him!) So she grabbed the home phone and ran to her closet to call him on his cell. I thought you all would like to see her most recent dazzler-of-a-smile. That’s right. . . the tooth fairy collected three top teeth this week. She’d been saving 2 and finally lost the last straggler of the top four front teeth. So cute. . .
Sorry to overwhelm you, but we’ve had quite a busy week, and I needed to get caught up. I am so so so happy I finally started blogging! I feel such a sense of relief that I am recording all these fun memories for the girls to see later. It makes me frustrated to think of all the time that I wasted and memories I’ve forgotten because I didn’t start earlier. Anyone know anything about backing up what you post? I would hate to have something happen to all of my posts, and lose it all because I didn’t know how to save it.
Hope you all have a wonderful week. We’ll be having adventure after adventure over here, that’s for sure!

Hey Ab! I’m so glad that you started blogging too! There are lots of websites that actually print your blog for you in book form. I haven’t checked out any myself yet, but I’ve heard the brand “Blurb” before. Keep blogging…I love it!
Wow, what a superb time for me to check out your blog for the first time!! I just read Dana’s new description of her family and right underneath it were all these cool links. Methinks, I will see if Line has been baptized yet! (Hi Line).
What fun parties you guys have. It almost persuadeth me to live in Utah (well, maybe visit). Great memories and I hope you do not ignore Priesthood counsel and keep snapping baptismal pictures like Dana did at Kaden’s service. Grandpa Bob could only roll his eyes and pretend that he did not know that lady.
So, we will be checking back for pix of that baptismal day. Happy, happy birthday Line, and best to your wonderful family.
Love, Dave and Delynn Heid in San Diego (Dana’s folks)
Thanks for putting forth the effort to post the photos and comments. It is wonderful for the grandparents and gives us a chance to be involved when we don’t live very close.
Love, Dad
Abby… blog update please!! Hope things are going well.. we are thinking and praying for you guys this week! Love you, Dana and co
Wow people, it’s Thanksgiving Day! I’m happy with my extra day off, and I am planning to doing something fun that will probably involve a car trip and seeing something new in Fountain Hills I haven’t seen yet.
You write something new at Thanksgiving?
